
Pityriasis Alba
Pityriasis Alba is a common, benign skin condition seen primarily in children and adolescents. It appears ass ill-defined, scaly, hypopigmented patches, often on the face, neck and upper arms. It is more noticeable in people with darker skin tones due to contrast between the affected and normal skin.
Causes :
The exact cause is unknown, but is associated with :
- Mild eczema (atopic dermatitis)
- Skin dryness - Can worsen in winter or with frequent washing
- Sun exposure
- Hypopigmentation due to inflammation
Treatment :
Pityriasis alba is self-limiting and resolves over time, but treatment Focuses on symptom relief :
